Griffon Football and Soccer call Spratt Memorial Stadium home. The stadium opened its doors in September of 1979 with a 44-0 Griffon victory over Dana College.
Griffon soccer played their first contest in Spratt in September of 2006 after conducting the first season in program history at Riverside Soccer Complex.
In November of 2014, the announcment of planned renovations to the stadium was made. An estimated $7.8 million in improvements are planned to be complete by the fall of 2015.
The stadium is named in memory of avid Griffon supporter Eliiot "Bub" Spratt and was constructed at a total cost of $850,000. Lights were added to the facility in 1985 as the Griffons defeated Missouri-Rolla 24-15 on September 4, 1985.
The stadium complex has gone through major renovations with the installation of a ProGrass synthetic field turf in 2006 and increased seating capacity to 7,200 following the renovation of the visitors' side seating in September of 2009 and can also accommodate spacious hillside seating. In addition to Griffon Football and Soccer, the Spratt Stadium Complex is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp, the St. Joseph High School Football Jamboree and formerly was the host of the Missouri State High School Eight Man Football Championship.
Prior to occupying Spratt Stadium, MWSU played its home football games at Noyes Field, a city-owned facility in midtown St. Joseph.
